Everyone on the Arkansas River.
Drinking Keystone at 9am...the perfect way to begin any morning.
Kelly and Jason.
Last Wednesday, Kelly and Jason arrived from Seattle. These are 2 of Keith's closest friends from high school and two of my favorite people. Everyone in the house had Friday off so we head to the Arkansas river for some rafting and car camping. On Friday morning before we took off fr th weekend me, Josh, Ashley and Jason went for a 14 mile run. Given that Josh, Ashley and I are all training for a marathon this made sense. Jason on the other hand, isn't training, claims to have never run over 5 miles, and lives at 200ft elevevation. I'm not sure what inspired him to join us but he did great although he seemed to be hurting a little at the end. It was impressive!
When we got to Buena Vista everyone jumped in the boat to run the short Numbers section of the Arkansas while Cota and I ran shuttle and took pics of the group. Cota was very confused to see Keith and company going down the river without him so the next day we decided to give Cota another shot at rafting. We knew we were going to do a mellow section of river and Cota ended up loving it! The first time we went was on the Rogue River in Oregon mid-October. Cota was cold on that trip and didnt' like the class IV rapids but this mellow class III on a 85 degree day suit his style. On Sunday morning Josh decided to hike one of the nearby 14ers while the rest of us had a lazy morning drinking coffee and playing cards. For one reason or another Josh was the only one motivated to get up at 4am and hike 10+ miles. Go Joji! We all returned on Sunday night and have been enjoying our time around Boulder for the past few days. They'll be taking off on Friday morning and it's going to be strange not having guests anymore.
