Recent Travels

Everyone at one of the Tahoe Casinos. It was my first (and last) gambling experience.

This has been an awesome month for Keith and I. We started the month off by meeting up with Alison, Sean, Lou & Jaz, and Mariah(Lou & Jaz's housemate) in Lake Tahoe for a long weekend. We spent the entire time eating yummy food, drinking wine from Jaz's parents' Alaskan winery (Bear Creek), playing cards, staying up entirely too late, climbing, and playing outside. It was incredible! We hadn't seen Lou & Jaz since the Graham and Greta's wedding and it was awesome to spend time with them once again.

Now we are in North Carolina visiting my family for Thanksgiving. Keith has been here only once before so it's been fun introducing him to Southern culture. He's constantly amazed and seems to be enjoying the experience. He got to try sweet tea for the first time last night and based on the fact that he drank 3 glasses I think he liked it. We drove here in one push earlier in the week and surprised my mother. She was so excited to see us and shocked by our arrival. Since she had no idea that we were coming we decided ahead of time that we would cook Thankgiving dinner for her. Keith prepared a wonderful meal and despite the difficulties of cooking in someone else's kitchen completely impressed my family! The next day my sister came up and we went to my Grandmother's house for yet another family Thankgiving meal. It has been incredible to see my sister. We haven't seen one another since her wedding and we were long overdue for some time together.
