GABF & Other News

Last weekend Josh, Ashley, Keith and I all headed into Denver for the Great American Beer Festival. We took the bus in around 11am and by 12:15pm had found ourselves right in the middle of the Pacific Northwest region ready for tasting. Basically, breweries are grouped by region and what better place to hang out than in the Pacific NW region? We were all given small beer glasses and received one ounce tasters of any beer we wanted. It was awesome but I have to admit...after about 30 beers they did all start to taste the same.

Here I am about half an hour into the GABF. At this point I had already tried at least 15 different beers.

Keith, David, and Ashley are trying to figure out how to get to the restaurant while Josh is a little pre-occupied.

Please see Keith's blog for live coverage from the GABF.

In other news, we bought another car. We decided that having one car while we both drove in out of Boulder in opposite directions wasn't exactly working all the time. We bought a 1999 Subaru Outback Impreza that we found a great deal on. It's a fun little car and is pretty much exactly like the one I drove when I was in OR only a different color. I also found Thailand tickets and got approved for the time off at Crocs so I'm really starting to plan for this vacation!!!! Wahoo.. 2 weeks of climbing in Thailand in January while getting paid....I can't wait!!!

That sounds awesome! I could go for a tasty NW brew right now... And Thailand! I'm so jealous, but I guess I don't have a lot of room to complain. Paid vacation though, way to go Melanie!

Keith looks REALLY happy to be at the beer fest. Maybe like he prepartied a little?
