Back in Guatemala
We are back in Guatemala and it feels good! Guatemala is my most favorite Central American country. I love the mountainous landscape, the cool climate, the culture, the huipiles and clothing of the indigenous populations, the colorful buildings, the food, the friendly people,..... I could go on and on. We have a little less than 2 weeks left and are focusing the remainder of our time in and around Coban and the El Peten region. It is very beautiful up here and it is part of Guatemala we did not get to explore when we were here a month or so ago. I am particularly excited to see the Mayan ruins of Tikal later this week. Today we visited the Museo Principe de Maya and saw amazing Mayan artifacts such as pottery, jewelry, and war tools. It was very cool. Later today we are taking a coffee tour as Coban is a major coffee producing town and tomorrow we are headed to an Orchid farm! I am looking forward to the next couple of week of traveling but am excited to know that we will return at the end of next week. I am excited to see Cota and anxious about our move to Boulder.
