Cota...Here I come!

Today was not good. The president of our school signed an agreement earlier this week to pay us our final paychecks by today and agreed to meet with us at 2pm. He did neither. He didn't even call us personally to tell us he couldn't/wouldn't be paying us or that he wouldn't be at our arranged meeting. Instead he simply didn't show up. Arghhhh..... Since he failed to pay us and continues to tell us lie after lie about when he will, we went and filed a complaint with the Labour Board. The Labour Board will now contact Mr. Ha and will give him 15 days to pay all that is owed to us. If he doesn't not do so in this time period then a hearing will be arranged within the next month. One that Keith and I will have to attend in order to get our money. However if he does pay, the labour board will drop the suit and there will be no hearing. Given all of this and the fact that we have to be out of our apartment by Monday, we have decided to come home tomorrow as originally planned. If Mr. Ha fails to pay us in the next 15 days we will have to fly back to Korea for our hearing when it is scheduled.

I am soooooo excited to be coming home to see Cota, friends, Keith's family, and my mom who will be visiting me in Oregon next week. However, I wish things had ended differently here. I feel confident that we will get most of what is owed to us now that we have gone to the Labour Board and I know there is nothing we could have done to prevent this, but it frustrates me to know this is our end. I really wanted to leave Korea on a good note and instead I feel gypped.
